8-year-old killed in accident
An 8-year-old Wayne County boy was killed Saturday when he fell off a utility trailer and was run over by its wheels.
Dalton Darden of 102 Austin Drive was one of several people on the trailer when the accident happened about 5:20 p.m. on Austin Drive.
The trailer was being pulled by a vehicle driven by Danney Gene Allen of Princeton. According to a report filed by the state Highway Patrol, Dalton was seated just forward of the right trailer wheels when he became entangled in the wheels and was pulled beneath the trailer.
No charges were filed.
