WASHINGTON COUNTY, MD - Motorists ran into some backed up traffic on Interstate 70 eastbound Wednesday due to a messy accident.

Troopers say a utility trailer became disconnected from a vehicle, traveled across the median, and struck some cars in the eastbound lanes.

The driver of the car was trapped, but rescue personnel got her out safely. She was taken to Washington County Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Interstate 70 was closed for about an hour and a half, according to police. Traffic was re-routed to Route 632, where motorists could get back on Interstate 70.
