Interstate 80 traffic will be slowed in both directions near Keystone Avenue

Traffic on Interstate 80 is slowed in both directions because of an accident, the Nevada Highway Patrol reports.

A Ford Excursion sports utility vehicle was pulling a 26-foot travel trailer east on Interstate 80 near Keystone Avenue when the driver lost control, the SUV and the trailer separated and the SUV went over the wall, Allen said.

The Ford did not roll but went over the cement divider wall and came to rest on its wheels but blocked two westbound lanes, Allen said. Meanwhile, the trailer blocked the two inside eastbound lanes, Allen said.

Troopers pushed the SUV out of the way to clear all four westbound lanes but traffic had already backed up to Wells Avenue, Allen said. Two eastbound lanes will be closed until a tow truck gets on scene to remove the travel trailer, Allen said.

The driver did not appear to be injured and was filling out a statement, Allen said.
