A utility trailer came off a trailer hitch and bounced off a Logan Road guardrail before crossing the centre line and nailing a pick-up truck head on Tuesday afternoon in Bridgewater.
The chain of events happened when the trailer came undone from an eastbound van on Logan Road heading toward the King Street intersection.
The trailer hit a guardrail, ricocheted across the road, hit the GMC Sierra heading west, and landed in the ditch, Bridgewater Police Sgt. Al Cunningham said.
The truck stayed in the westbound lane. That vehicle’s driver has taken to South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater with minor injuries. The van’s drive was unhurt.
Sgt. Cunningham said the file is under investigation and wasn’t able to confirm if any charges would be laid.
Check out video footage from the accident scene.
