North Carolina man killed by loose hay trailer



CAMDEN, N.C.

A Camden man was killed Saturday when a hay trailer came unhitched from an oncoming pickup and crossed the U.S. 158 center line.

Isaac Forbes, 67, of Trotman Road in Camden County, was killed at 8:30 p.m. when the trailer hit the 1998 Buick LeSabre he was driving about a mile west of Country Club Road on U.S. 158, a stretch known as the Camden Causeway, said Sgt. C.K. Parks with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Reginald Parker Jr., 56, was driving east on U.S. 158 in a Dodge pickup towing the trailer when it came loose, Parks said. Parker was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle. Parker lives on Old Hertford Highway in Elizabeth City.
