Pleasant Grove woman killed in Wyoming crash; 3 hurt
Kimberly Shaw, 34, her husband and two others were in a four-door pickup truck on I-80, 23 miles outside of Evanston. The pickup was hauling a 24-foot camper and a boat.
For an unknown reason, the boat and camper began fishtailing, causing the driver, Bryon Shaw, 32, to lose control of the truck, the Wyoming Highway Patrol said in a statement. Shaw hit the brakes, but that caused the two trailers to swerve into oncoming traffic.
The truck and two trailers were spun 180 degrees, causing the pickup to break free of the camper and flip over the guard rail, the WHP said. The truck rolled 4 1/2 times before coming to rest at the bottom of an embankment.
Bryon Shaw, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected. His wife, Kimberly, was wearing a seat belt and remained in the cab but was killed, according to the WHP.
Two passengers in the back seat, from Logan and Wellington, were also injured. The extent of the three survivors' injuries was not known Tuesday. All were taken to Evanston Regional Hospital.
The WHP said the weather was clear at the time of the accident.
